Hertford (pronunciación n'inglés: /ˈhɑrtfərd/ o /ˈhɑrfərd/) ye la capital del condáu de Hertfordshire, Inglaterra. Nel censu de 2001 la población de Hertford asítiase en 24.180 habitantes.[1] Delles estimaciones recién alcen esa cifra a unos 28.000 habitantes.
El nome de la llocalidá ye d'orixe anglosaxón y significa "vau frecuentáu por venaos".
La ciudá de Hartford, n'EE. XX., recibió'l so nome colonial a imaxe del de Hertford.[2]
