Edwards and Kelcey, a Morristown-based engineering and construction management firm, today said it is being acquired by Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. of Pasadena, Calif., an $8 billion firm with 45,000 employees. Terms were not disclosed. Edwards and Kelcey has 25 regional offices with roughly 1,000 employees; about 215 of them are in New Jersey. “There is little duplication of markets, clients or geographies,” said Edwards and Kelcey CEO Kevin McMahon. The acquisition will help Jacobs increase the size of its practices in transportation urban development and telecommunications, said Jacobs Group Vice President Allyn Taylor. Edwards and Kelcey was ranked 71st among the Top 500 U.S. Design Firms by the Engineering News-Record Web site for 2006, while Jacobs is ranked 3rd.
