Ramon Casas

Ramon Casas i Carbó (rəˈmoŋ ˈkazəs; 4 January 1866 – 29 February 1932) was a Spanish painter and designer.

As native of Barcelona, Catalonia, he became famous for his portraits, sketches and paintings of the local elite of cities where he lived, like Barcelona, Madrid and Paris. He was also known for his paintings of crowds of bullfights and other scenes. He also created posters and postcards that helped to define the Catalan modernisme movement. He died in Barcelona, aged 66 years old.
