Authorities said Peoria’s bomb squad was called to Canton on Tuesday to defuse an explosive device in a vehicle, and search for bomb making material in a Farmington home.
Canton Police said they have arrested a former treasurer of the city’s Friendship Festival, accusing him of stealing more than $500 from the organization.
Companies will still be able to charge new rates once they are filed with the Insurance Department. But the new law gives the department authority to review those rates and order rebates of any excess premiums collected if the rates are found to be excessive or unfairly discriminatory.
