He was among the first stage performers to enter into Hollywood films and appeared in over 40 features. His credits include "The Coward" (1915), "Loaded Dice" (1918), "Lorna Doone" (1922), "The Dixie Handicap" (1924) and "The Gilded Butterfly" (1926). He died of pneumonia in Hollywood, California, at age 70. He was the grandfather of actor Keenan Wynn.
