  • Meet Tia, Head of Growth and Partnerships at Spurgeons 👋 Tia leads our efforts to grow both commissioned and non-commissioned services, helping identify new opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and build relationships that enable us to extend our impact for children and families. In addition, she supports our advocacy work as Secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Family Hubs, bringing together policymakers, practitioners, and sector leaders to champion family support services. Reflecting on what she enjoys most about her role, Tia says: "I have the privilege of meeting and working with a wide variety of organisations, hearing about the incredible work they're doing and exploring ways we can collaborate. Finding opportunities to connect people, ideas and services to create greater impact is one of the most rewarding parts of my role." We're proud to have passionate leaders like Tia helping drive collaboration, innovation, and positive outcomes for children and families. • A key learning from our Spurgeons Connect pilot phase speaks to the importance of relational, community‑based support. 99% of families reported that they felt welcomed and valued within their Church Family Hub. This feedback highlights the role of trust, inclusion and dignity in early support for children and families. When people feel welcomed, they’re more likely to engage, seek help and build lasting connections. We’re proud to support churches in creating spaces where families genuinely feel they belong, find out more here: https://lnkd.in/e4MiSfHX

What a week! 🌟 As we all head home from an incredibly busy and rewarding week at New Wine Summer Festival, we’re taking a moment to reflect on everything we’ve been part of. It was a privilege to catch up with familiar faces, meet so many new people, and have countless meaningful conversations throughout the week. We loved welcoming families to our stall in the Fun Zone, where there was plenty of darts 🎯and LEGO building 🧱 We were also delighted to see our own Sarah James sharing a highlight of our work to a packed Impact venue. 🙌. Our breakout session, Parenting Teens, led by Nicola Baldwin, was also incredibly well attended, with such high demand that sadly we had to turn some people away. A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to stop by, ask questions, share your stories and encourage our team. 💙 Every conversation made this week so worthwhile. Thank you, New Wine, for another fantastic festival. Here are just a few snapshots from the week, there are plenty more to come! 📸

  • With the new school term approaching, our Family Support team has developed a free school readiness checklist to help parents and carers prepare children for the move into primary school. Aligned with the government’s EYFS framework, the checklist is designed to be practical and visual, giving families a simple way to track progress on key skills over the summer. Download it here: https://lnkd.in/ee6QGfNt

  • Proposed changes to SEND provision could significantly increase the support available to children and young people in schools over the coming years. To help parents and professionals understand what these proposals mean in practice, our team has created a clear and practical guide explaining the proposed reforms and how they may affect the future of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The guide is now live on our website and aims to provide straightforward information on what is currently being proposed and what families may need to know moving forward. 📖 Read the guide here: https://lnkd.in/ewZFVgma #SEND #EHCP #SpecialEducationalNeeds #Education #Inclusion #ParentSupport

  • 27,500. That’s not just a number - it’s the number of children and families Spurgeons reached last year through our network of Family Hubs and services across the UK. 95% of those families made measurable progress in their lives as a result of our support. The 27.5 Hours for Families challenge was built around that number. One hour for every 1,000 families. A summer’s worth of effort, in their name. If you haven’t signed up yet - or know someone who should - the link is below. https://lnkd.in/eeJndbTx
