    I’m deeply saddened by the passing of former Senator Stephen Alves, a tireless champion for Rhode Islanders and a personal friend. Susan and I are keeping his family, friends, and colleagues in our thoughts and prayers. I’ve directed state flags to be lowered in his honor.

    Rhode Islanders need relief from high energy costs now. Following my executive order to cover $28 million in winter rate hikes, I am urging the PUC to approve over $160 million in customer credits and to reduce the annual energy efficiency charge. Let’s get this done.

    Last week, I joined Mayor DaSliva to celebrate Rose Warner's 100th birthday. A true Rhode Island trailblazer, Rose broke barriers as the first Black woman to referee at the collegiate level and has inspired generations. Here's to 100 incredible years!
