# Overview

### What is Kerno?

Kerno is a local CI for your AI coding agent. It runs in your environment and gives your agent a feedback loop to test changes against your real running stack, so the code it ships works\
as part of your system as intended.

### Key benefits:

**For Developers**: Ship faster with AI, without breaking your system.

* Validate every AI-generated change against your real stack before raising a PR
* Never manually write, update, or maintain your tests or test environment.
* Catch issues while you're still working on a feature, not hours later when CI fails
* Avoid lengthy reworks from issues discovered after you've already pushed

**For Team**: Maintain quality and consistency as your team ships with AI

* Every developer ships to the same standard of reliability.
* Adopt AI across your team without increasing production risk
* Integration coverage that stays current as your codebase evolves, with no manual upkeep
* Increase AI usage across your team without adding QA overhead
