Being a CNCF Ambassador gave Chamod Perera visibility across the ecosystem. He's used it to give back in a few different ways. He organizes events, including @KCD Sri Lanka, contributes to cloud native projects, and speaks at conferences and meetups. Different kinds of contribution, all strengthening the same community. #CloudNative #CNCF #KubeCon

Making cloud native ubiquitous
About us
Cloud native computing uses an open source software stack to deploy applications as microservices, packaging each part into its own container, and dynamically orchestrating those containers to optimize resource utilization. The Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) hosts critical components of those software stacks including Kubernetes and Prometheus; brings together the industry’s top developers, end users, and vendors; and serves as a neutral home for collaboration. CNCF is part of The Linux Foundation.

Data sovereignty has shifted from a policy discussion to a real architecture decision for a lot of teams. How much is it shaping yours? Whatever your answer, what's driving it: regulation, customers, or something else? #CloudNative #CNCF

Pulling large models across a cluster can crush your bandwidth. Dragonfly v2.5.0 helps with exactly that. The release lets the Dragonfly client pull model repositories directly from Hugging Face and ModelScope, with the heavy data moving over Dragonfly's P2P acceleration. There's also a new Kubernetes injector that adds P2P downloads to your pods without rebuilding images, plus more complete rate limiting and a download blocklist for tighter control. Congrats to the Dragonfly maintainers and contributors on the release! Full notes: https://lnkd.in/ewKZmTK3 #CloudNative #CNCF #Kubernetes

Ever had a kubectl debug session vanish without a trace? Here's the catch a lot of people hit during incidents: once an ephemeral container exits, Kubernetes drops its termination details from the API. Exit codes, the container you targeted, how long the session ran, gone when the pod updates. EphemeralContainerStatus has no lastState field to hold any of it. For on-call handoffs, or anywhere you need traceability for SOC 2 or PCI, that's a problem. This community article explains why the gap exists and how teams capture those transient states with the watch API. https://lnkd.in/efyUdDpf #Kubernetes #Observability #CloudNative

"I came for the technology but stayed for the people." CNCF Ambassador and Argo CD Maintainer Nitish Kumar heard that line somewhere and it stuck. He's been to KubeCon + CloudNativeCon in North America, Europe, India, and Japan. Every time, the same feeling: open source maintainers who want to have a real conversation, not sell you anything. #KubeCon #CloudNative #CNCF
