Beauty is changing. But "The People's Beauty Index" has the answers. Introducing Reddit’s first beauty report exploring how community is reshaping beauty discovery, confidence, and decision-making. The beauty industry has long been fueled by flawless feeds, expert claims, and the next big trend. But consumers are increasingly looking for something more useful: the person who already tried the serum, shaved their head, found the SPF that does not pill, and came back with notes. Across Reddit beauty communities, that shift is already happening: 💄 Posts mentioning “fix,” “hide,” “cover,” “correct,” and “conceal” decreased 32% YoY, while posts mentioning “embrace,” “highlight,” “enhance,” and “emphasize” increased 220% YoY. 👨🦲 r/bald reached 1.2B views, up 467% YoY, as people come together around confidence, identity, and self-acceptance. 🛍️ Nearly 7 in 10 beauty shoppers say they feel more confident buying a product after reading about it on Reddit. On Reddit, beauty is not dictated from the top down. It is tested, debated, and refined by the people living it who are offering confidence through community.
