Rianne Leung will compete in Dakar as Australia’s sole Fencer and the world’s leading ranked Cadet Women’s Foil competitor.

Rianne is a foil fencer from Sydney who trains at the Sydney Academy of Fencing. A right-handed competitor, Leung progressed rapidly through Australia’s age-group ranks before establishing herself on the international cadet circuit.

Leung announced herself internationally at the 2024 Commonwealth Cadet and Junior Fencing Championships in Christchurch. She won silver in the Individual Cadet Women’s Foil and bronze in the Junior event, while also helping Australia win both Team competitions. Those results were followed by her first appearance at the Cadet World Championships in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Her breakthrough on the European circuit came in 2025 when, aged 15, she won bronze at the prestigious cadet tournament in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Later that year, she secured her first International Cadet Title at the World Cup event in Lima, Peru.

Leung carried that momentum into 2026, reaching the quarter-finals of the Asian Cadet Championships in Jakarta and the Cadet World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Those performances lifted Leung to No.1 in the world Cadet Women’s Foil rankings.

Addison Houslip is a triathlete from Queensland’s Sunshine Coast with a strong background in running and cycling. Before emerging internationally in triathlon, she won Australian junior titles in the 1500m and 3000m and earned a national junior cycling time trial medal.

Houslip established herself among Australia’s leading junior triathletes during 2025. She won the Australian Sprint Title in her age group before gaining her first major international experience on the European junior circuit where she finished second at the Europe Triathlon Junior Cup in Holten, Netherlands.

Later that year, Houslip represented Australia at the World Triathlon Junior Championships in Wollongong. The youngest member of the Australian junior women’s team, she overcame a shoulder injury and difficult wind conditions to finish 16th as the leading Australian.

Houslip continued her rise by winning the 2026 Oceania Junior Women’s Championship in Devonport, Tasmania where her performance earned her selection for the Dakar Youth Olympic Games. Houslip enters her Youth Olympic debut as an Oceania Junior Champion and International Junior Cup winner.

Marley Dodd is an amateur boxer from Queensland’s Redlands region who trains at No Deal Boxing Gym. He began competing in 2022 and progressed through Queensland’s junior ranks, building his experience against opponents from across Australia. Competing in the lighter weight divisions, Dodd emerged as one of the country’s leading youth boxers through a demanding program of state and national tournaments.

Dodd represented Australia at the 2026 World Boxing Futures Cup in Bangkok, an U19 international tournament forming part of the qualification pathway for the Dakar Youth Olympic Games. His campaign ended against Sweden’s Ali Zaheer Changezi, but the experience provided an important introduction to international competition.

Dodd was subsequently selected to represent Australia at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Senegal. The selection completed his rapid progression from his first competitive bouts in 2022 to the Youth Olympic stage four years later. He will compete in Dakar as a National Junior Champion and Australian Youth Representative, carrying valuable experience from state, national and international competition.
