For the non-US contributors like me, how long will the GFM project be active? I donated what I could this month (small amount in USD, because exchange rate). The wife of a local MP was the subject of one such experiment when she was hospitalized for drpression. She wasn’t the only one though as a series of tetsts were funded by the CIA were run here in Canada:

I was there that day and I was working on a cranky Weber carb at one point when I looked up to see the 767 up in the sky as a dot and thinking to myself, “Damn he’s a bit low for around here,…”. I turned my attention back to the Weber for a few seconds and then looked in the direction of the 767 again, and by now it was as big as a damn house and heading straight for the track,….
Several have commented on Bob Pearson have brass balls and after meeting the man in person many years later I’d have to agree with that assessment, adding that the guy had a great sense of style in addition to that. I sort of noticed it when he and the rest of the crew left the 767 after making sure that the passengers had all safely disembarked and were accounted for And that the crippled aircraft was secured. Pearson and the rest of the crew Would have been forgiven if they looked a little disheveled after what they had been though: at that moment though they were all dressed impeccably in their complete uniforms and to a man/woman looked ready to start their next shift. I asked Pearson about that and he explained that at that moment he figured that his days with Air Canada were numbered after what had happened: nonetheless he wanted to go out as a professional and began straightening out his uniform. Pearson haden’t said a word about what was in his mind at that moment but one by one the crew took his lead and went to work on their own uniform, and moments later they were all there under the Manitoba sky looking like they were ready to start another flight.
I Wish that I had had a camera at that moment,…….
