Freddy Cannon

Frederick Anthony “Freddy” Picariello Jr. (December 4, 1936 – July 17, 2026), better known as Freddy "Boom Boom" Cannon, was an American singer and guitarist. He was most famous in the early 1960s. His hit records include "Abigail Beecher", "Tallahassee Lassie", and "Way Down Yonder In New Orleans". He was born in Lynn, Massachusetts.

One of Cannon's hits, "Palisades Park", was written by Chuck Barris, who later created The Dating Game and The Gong Show. Cannon also appeared in the movies Just for Fun and Village of the Giants.cannons last hit was “ Lest put the fun back in Rock’n Roll “song writers Joseph Nicoletti Jr,( Global village music co.(ascap) and Bobby Feldman legendary Songwriter/Producer he and Nicoletti were from Brooklyn and Good Friends many years Bobby Feldman Discover Joseph Nicoletti playing in Manhattan and filling clubs every Night.

Cannon died on July 17, 2026 in hospice care in Oxnard, California from cancer at the age of 89.^[1]
