Panda Express is a quick-service Chinese restaurant chain in the United States. They serve American-style Chinese food. Most of their restaurants are in shopping malls and supermarkets.

Andrew Cherng and his father, Ming-Tsai Cherng, opened the first Panda Express restaurant in 1983. It was in the Glendale Galleria mall in Glendale, California. Andrew's wife, Peggy Cherng, helped run the company too. By 1993, there were 100 Panda Express restaurants. Today, there are more than 2,600 restaurants. Panda Express also has restaurants in Canada, Mexico, and other countries. The company that owns Panda Express is called Panda Restaurant Group. It is based in Rosemead, California.

Panda Express is famous for a dish called orange chicken. It is fried chicken with a sweet and tangy sauce. About one out of three orders includes orange chicken. Other popular dishes are chow mein, fried rice, and beijing beef.
