While standard mechanical keyboards sound nice, I decided to take desk customizability to a whole new level. I designed and coded an open-source software tool from scratch using #Python! Introducing **Meme Keyboard Soundboard (v1.0.0)** — a clean background utility that maps your physical keyboard clusters into separate, responsive sound zones. Now, every single typing motion plays a crisp, rhythmic mix of viral internet audio tracks (like the Vine Boom, Anime Wow, or classic Error notifications)! Technical milestones solved in this stable release: 🔹 Built a responsive dark-themed controller interface using CustomTkinter. 🔹 Solved hardware performance drops by leveraging low-latency, multi-channel sound mixing engines (`pygame.mixer`). 🔹 Implemented professional thread-safety blocks (`threading.Lock()`) to prevent system crashes or audio stuttering during rapid typing sessions. 🔹 Engineered an adaptive clip-pruning script: single key strikes play completely out, but fast typing triggers a smart 1-second cutoff to keep your audio buffer perfectly crisp and clean. 🔹 Bundled all required audio files and assets straight inside a standalone, custom-branded `.exe` via PyInstaller so it runs out-of-the-box. Evolving this tool into a stable, fun, and highly responsive digital asset has been an amazing software engineering milestone. The project is fully open-source. I've started noticing that the right tools don't just make work faster—they change how you think while working. One tool that's quietly become part of my workflow is Visual Studio Code. At first, it was simply where I wrote code. Over time, I started exploring features beyond the editor itself—extensions, the integrated terminal, Git integration, and debugging. It gives me the ability to: Upload and manage their own hymns Source hymns directly from Hymnal.net Display lyrics live over OBS scenes with full layout control Tech stack: Claude Code for AI-assisted development, CMake, Visual Studio 2022, and Git. Day 324 of my 365-day coding journey marks a monumental milestone: the Sliding Window pattern is officially 100% complete. Today's deep dive into advanced problems like LeetCode 76 (Minimum Window Substring) and LeetCode 713 (Subarray Product Less Than K) brought a powerful architectural realization. I learned that every variable sliding window problem boils down to three core configurable components—Window State, Window Validity Rule, and Answer Update—while everything else operates on a clean, universal engineering template. Embracing the struggle of figuring out why a window is valid, how to maintain state instead of recalculating, and how counting problems derive multiple answers from a single valid window has completely reshaped my perspective on algorithmic design. Moving past brute force to think in terms of invariants and stateful transitions proves that real learning happens in the trenches. You’re probably writing tests you don’t actually need. I realised this while working on an upgrade for one of our backend mechanism at IDnow. One of the most powerful software design principles I’ve come across is: Making Illegal States Unrepresentable. The idea is simple: Instead of constantly checking for invalid states at runtime, why not design our types so those states can never exist in the first place? Less defensive programming. Fewer edge cases. Safer and more maintainable code. This concept completely changed the way I think about software design.
