Can you please move the "Search Code Gallery Resources" search bar towards extreme top left of the screen, such that its not hidden during other views...or just add another option button to either search "Code Gallery" or "MSDN" or "Web"..

Please provide a 'Suggestions' location for Code Gallery Product 'Improvement' (or evolution.)
Perhaps a link to a Code Gallery Wiki, or MSDN Forum, at the bottom of the FAQ.

Any chance that we will see visitor statistics similar to codeplex?

I'm using Windows XP with Service Pack 3, v.3264. I've tried to load IE 8 and follow the instructions to the letter, but, it fails to install.
Step 1 checks for up-to-date software and tells me that Im missing a patch or SP------ and refers me to a download page. When I download the SP
and try to install it, I receive an error message which says that since I'm updated to SP 3, I don't need to install the SP. Then, when I try
to install IE 8 again, I get the same run around. Is there any workaround that I could use to install IE 8? Dukerl

Dukerl, It is that since XPSP 3 is not official, and IE 8 is not official, they may not be coded to read each other.. as such, you need to revert your system back to XPSP 2 to install IE 8 Beta 1.. then upgrade to XPSP 3 RC 1.

seanmcn: We are working on getting the same vistor statistics on Code Gallery in the coming weeks.

ArnieRowland: You can post your suggestions on the Issue Tracker tab.

Guruparan: We will be reworking the search mechanism in the coming weeks and I will let you know our release scheduele as soon as we feel we can commit to it.

Would like to be notified of new discussions in my resources. Otherwise I have to check them manually.

Edit Resource Page always crashes on IE 7 with Windows server 2003. There is java script error. If it type any thing and click save i loose all my data as it doesn't populate the previous data when the error happens.

Please find a way to map direct links to old GotDotNet articles to their new locations, if they exist. It is annoying in the extreme that you have removed this resource and not made migration easy. (Grrr.)

General question for all. How do you add an iFrame into Microsoft BackOffice Live website to be able to drop code in for Google Analytics? Please help.

fungolfn wrote  Jul 24 at 6:33 PM
Microsoft obviously doesn't seem to want to assist but must have website indexing fast and want to imbed in Office Live created website

StevenMSFT wrote  Jul 29 at 8:50 PM

Hi fungolfn,
Unfortunately MSDN Code Gallery is not the place to post your questions on Microsoft BackOffice, you will be able to obtain an answer on the TechNet forums at http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/default.aspx?SiteID=17.

Jordan,

Do you have a specific problem you are facing? What are you trying to find/solve?

StevenMSFT wrote  Jul 29 at 8:52 PM
dbrowne,

Your resource has an RSS feed on it's home page to which you can subscribe.

StevenMSFT wrote  Jul 29 at 8:54 PM
AdrewCr,

Unfortunately and much to my personal regret we did not have time to migrate the GotDotNet and build the infrastructure to keep supporting the links to them. Let me know if you have any code samples that you are missing and we'll upload them to MSDN Code Gallery.

Where can i get more info on Hammer ?

cpkilekofp wrote  Aug 7 at 3:49 PM
StevenMSFT,

In that case, why bother to link the examples at all? This is a major waste of my time in the middle of a workday, and this resource without the code examples is pretty useless. I'll go find out what I need and build it anyway, but for those of us who don't like to spend time dealing with humans if we can avoid it, having to wait for examples to be uploaded on request is time-wasting and demeaning (why do I have to wait with my hat in my hand for examples that should be available if Microsoft hadn't deliberately broken the access to them????)

StevenMSFT wrote  Aug 13 at 4:19 PM
cpkilekofp,

I understand that this not a great solution, unfortunately our resources to bring the first version of MSDN Code Gallery were limited and in hindsight we probably should not have broken any of the GotDotNet links. I’m sorry for your inconvenience.

Hi. Code Gallery is very useful, but it's too slow and picture often are not correctly loaded. Another thing: is not possibile have a TFS space here like in CodePlex for snippets under source control? Thanks!
Matteo.

StevenMSFT wrote  Aug 22 at 9:07 PM
Hi Matteo,

What's the browser you are using, and can you send me a screenshot at steven.wilssens@microsoft.com?

We do not plan on adding source control support to Code Gallery. You can upload different releases of your project if you want at the moment. You might want to have a look at Popfly Explorer (http://www.popfly.com/Overview/Explorer.aspx) which allows you to easily store your projects online from inside Visual Studio. Once you are ready with them you can publish them to MSDN Code Gallery. This last part is a manual step.

Thanks!
steven
