New Orleans Gets Its Brews Back. It's no surprise that beer is recovering at the same excruciatingly slow pace with the rest of the city after Katrina. However there are now two breweries, Abita and Heiner Brau, producing beer and one more, NOLA, on the way.
Here's an interesting list from Jay Brooks -
The Top Ten Animals Associated with Beer. I'm not sure how Jay decides what to include on his lists- the most, the best, his personal favorites - but I can't argue with anything here.
The economy is something we are all facing these days. It has certainly affected the brewing industry. Prices on virtually every segment of beer are steadily rising. But this does not mean that you have to sacrifice taste. Smart shopping and a bit of strategic thinking can help you stretch your beer dollar.

The takeover of Anheuser-Busch by Inbev last year has brought about many changes. Breweries are being closed, workers laid-off, distribution deals redealt and some sporadic boycott's all resulted from the big move.
But at least one thing seems unchanged. The never-ending battle over the brand name Budweiser shows no signs of letting up.
The latest ruling was by an EU court upholding a previous decision that Anheuser-Busch wouldn't be granted an EU trademark for the name Budweiser for its "beer, ale, porter, malted alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages."
