There has to be a better way for Permanent Residents to apply to some of these jobs. It's one thing to be a non-citizen living outside the US and another to be here legaly and be allowed to work.

Dan, I appreciate your responses. I had to delete the thread as I was being stalked.

It would save a ton of time if there was an option of excluding criteria rather than only including (ie, search all agencies except DoD or all states except XYZ). As it is, I have to have the maximum number of searches set up to run everything that I want to eliminate sorting through the 100s of jobs I won't make the top list for because I'm not a vet or that are in areas ( Alaska, SW, etc) that I'm not willing to move to.

and make it a one click application process for any job that requires it. I find it annoying to have to answer some of the same questions for each job u apply.

      • Paul Garcia I wanted to know when the students link be active again. Right now it just sends you to look at the info on the new pathways program but doesn't list opportunities for students. Please let me know when the option will be back again. or will there be a filter for internships when you do the job search?
      • USAJOBS Hi Paul. You can limit your search using the student filter on the advanced search page. For additional tips and information, please contact the Pathways team directly (pathways@opm.gov). - Dan

Hi Paul. Thanks for the compliment! No, only you can see your uploaded photo, and that is never sent with an application or viewable if agencies search for resumes. You cannot search for jobs that only accept applications from Schedule A... applicants. In addition to the jobs available on the site, you can also contact agency SPPC's at agencies (http://go.usa.gov/mlL) to assist you. Unfortunately, not all agency systems are linked with USAJOBS yet, but they are working on it. I don't believe there is currently a way to bring your USAJOBS resume into Avue. Good luck! - DanSee More
      • USAJOBS Hi Tami. The SPPC contact information can be found in the link provided above. - Dan

      • Trude Kyle That's too bad...aren't they required by law to offer a % of openings to the general public? Years of non competitive openings doesn't seem right...but they are EEOC and I guess they are within the legal parameters for hiring. Thank you Dan.
      • USAJOBS You're welcome! For additional information about Federal hiring laws, you can contact OPM's Hiring Policy office (202-606-0960) and they will be able to provide assistance. - Dan
