Academic Professional Grievance Committee
The committee is a hearing board for academic professionals and is advisory to the president (or the executive vice president and provost). It investigates alleged discrimination, infringements on academic or professional freedom, violations of the Code of Conduct, salary disputes, and abuse of governance policies and procedures.
Five regular members and two alternate members are elected from academic professionals with continuing appointment. The committee should elect a chair for the following year at its final meeting of the academic year. If no meeting is scheduled, a special meeting should be called specifically for the purpose of electing a chair. (Three-year staggered terms.)
