Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Building 3

Engineering Technology

engineers turn ideas into reality

Imagination and innovation are the cornerstones of engineering. From the design of safer automobiles to the creation of alternative energy technology, we look to mechanical, manufacturing and electrical engineers to create imaginative solutions to real-world issues that impact our lives. ASU's Department of Engineering Technology provides students with a hands-on, practical environment that encourages creative problem-solving and innovative thinking so you can “dream it, design it, build it.”

message from the chair

mckenna

The Department of Engineering Technology is proud to offer degrees tailored to educating electrical, mechanical and manufacturing engineering practitioners who are well grounded in the principles of science and engineering, and knowledgeable of the practical applications of those principles in business and industry.

The educational backbone of our programs is applied learning. Each of these programs emphasizes industry-relevant curricula and real-world project experiences that will help students meet their personal and professional goals. Our ABET/TAC accredited B.S. programs prepare graduates for employment in manufacturing, management, product development, design, testing, plant operations, technical sales and service, among others.

The B.A.S. curricula provide an efficient path forward for a person holding an A.A.S. degree from a regionally accredited college. Often this is an ideal program for a mid-career professional needing a four-year degree to continue their career advancement. As this degree is not ABET accredited, it is more focused on specific skills and management content within the specific concentration area.

I encourage you to find out more about our curricula, courses and faculty by continuing your electronic tour through our web pages. Also, please feel free to come by our department for a tour of our state-of-the-art facilities.
