The value of catch from Icelandic vessels in January was 10.6 billion ISK, 10.2% more than in January 2018. Demersal catch value was 9.6 billion ISK, an increase of 35.7%.
In the first three months of 2019, the value of exported goods from Iceland amounted to almost ISK 174,000 million fob and the value of imported goods amounted to ISK 173,500 million fob (ISK 185,700 million cif).
Overnight stays in all accommodation in March 2019 were 694,000, compared with 719,000 in March last year. Overnight stays in hotels and guesthouses were 444,000, overnight stays in apartments, youth hostels, campsites etc. were 116,000, and overnight stays through websites such as Airbnb were approximately 134,000.
The producer price index (PPI) increased by 0.7% between February and March 2019. The prices of food increased by 1.2% (effect on the index 0.2), price of marine products increased by 1.0% (0.2%), prices of power intensive industry products increased by 0.5% (0.2%), price of other manufacturing industry increased by 0.4% (0.1%) in the same period.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) based on prices in April 2019 is 467.0 points (May 1988=100), 0.37% higher than in the previous month. The CPI less housing cost is 399.4 points, 0.48% higher than in March 2019.
