We are looking for talented Senior OpenStack Engineer, who are willing to work on the intersection of IT and software engineering, be passionate about open-source and be able to design and deploy cloud infrastructure built on top of open-source components. You will be also working internally with our professional services team, cloud operations, and customer engineering teams to help our customers create automation and develop tooling to onboard their services from bare metal and VMware infrastructure to Openstack cloud and k8s clusters.
Main Responsibilities:
Plan and deploy Mirantis Cloud Native Platform clusters ensuring all relevant prerequisites for deployment are in place based on the scope of work signed both by Mirantis and the customer;
Extend the functionality of Mirantis Cloud Native Platform including automation to install and configure new services using the customer requirements;
Troubleshoot, operate and tune OpenStack clusters to ensure the highest uptimes and performance requirements are maintained using the recommendations and best practices;

Practical experience in Puppet, SaltStack or other IT automation tools for medium and large environments with practical experience of Puppet manifests creation;
Practical administration experience of virtualized environments based on KVM;
Strong experience in deploying or operating medium/large Openstack environments
Good understanding of system performance and scaling
Ability to write and troubleshoot code written in Bash, Python or GO

ECMWF in the recent years has embarked on an initiative to explore the offering of Cloud Computing service and make available cloud resources close to its data and existing HPC and storage infrastructure. In the context of this effort, ECMWF is participating in the EO4EU project which aims to provide innovative tools, methodologies and approaches that would assist a wide spectrum of users, from domain experts and professionals to simple citizens to benefit from Earth Observation (EO) data. EO4EU will deliver dynamic data mapping and labelling based on AI adding FAIRness to the system and data. EO4EU will also introduce an ecosystem for holistic management of EO data, bridging the gap among domain experts and end users, bringing in the foreground technological advances to address the market straightness towards a wider usage of EO data.
EO4EU envisages to boost the Earth Observation data market, providing a digestible data information model for a wide range of EO data, through dynamic data annotation and a state-of-the-art serverless processing by leveraging important European Cloud & HPC infrastructures.
The successful candidate will apply their skills, knowledge, and expertise to help achieving the goals, complete the deliverables of the EO4EU project and also contribute to other related activities within the organization. Wikimedia Foundation is hiring a part-time Data Center Engineer to work out of our data center site in Carrollton, TX. This position will be maintaining and providing hands-on support across the hardware fleet of Dell, HP, and Juniper products. The next steps and challenges in the near future include getting the service into production, making improvements and new features, developing our customer backup processes, developing high availability for the service, and improving automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
In this position You’ll join a freshly established, self-managing and “modern” agile team that develops and operates the new DBaaS service as a part of a wider group and in close collaboration with the database team of CSC. The new Specialist and team are serving "higher purpose" by accelerating academic research by developing a service and tools that allow researchers at higher education institutions and other research organisations to focus on their core competence research instead of managing databases.
The Applications/Systems Specialist is an important part of a growing DBaaS team responsible for the design and technological implementation of the new service on top of CSC’s own IaaS cPouta OpenStack services. The practical duties contain among other things:
- OpenStack administration (Trove, Keystone, possibly Swift)
- OpenStack patching (Trove) - there will be a possibility to contribute upstream
- Automating database maintenance processes, upgrades and features of the new service
- Writing documentation for team, customer and administrative purposes
- Improving the monitoring and logging operations for the service
- Developing and improving the customer backup processes at CSC.
From the candidates we expect linux and coding skills as well as practical experience of automating IT systems. Additionally, practical knowledge and experience in the following fields and technologies are highly desirable and thus considered as assets:
- OpenStack administration
- Database administration
- Running production-level services and systems
- High availability design and HA implementation of services
- Developing CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab, Gitlab-runners, Artifactory, Podman etc.)
- Python, Ansible and other automation technologies, database technologies (PostgreSQL, MariaDB etc.).
An ideal candidate has some experience in most of the abovementioned skills and a capability to learn the rest quickly at work. An education from IT, engineering or other relevant field, as well as knowledge of the Finnish language, are assets but not musts in this role. The title and precise duties of the selected Specialist are specified based on the existing knowledge, skills and experience of the person getting selected. The candidate is subject to a standard security clearance vetting.

The Marketing Coordinator will help develop and then lead the distribution of key messages from the OpenInfra Foundation. A key contributor to a small (but powerful!) team, this candidate will work closely with fellow marketing staff as well as community, business development and product teams. This role is designed to bring storytelling to life, ensuring that key messages are distributed through key channels in a consistent narrative.
