Last week’s wiki work was a combination of follow-ups to previous scaffolding, as well as some of the most important documentation to ever hit the site.

(NOTE: As with everything else across the wiki, not everything on these pages is necessarily complete! We just want to showcase some of the leaps in content and documentation being done.)

Enjoy everything you see here (plus everything else the wiki has to offer!), and be sure to also follow us on Bluesky, where we skeet out a random wiki page link every day — you never know what might pop up!

There’s a lot of offline work going on lately with scanning, editing, and transcribing, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing new to share!

(NOTE: As with everything else across the wiki, not everything on these pages is necessarily complete! We just want to showcase some of the leaps in content and documentation being done.)

  • Dragon Ball: Dragon Dai-Hikyō“: We’re taking things all the way back to the literal beginning of Dragon Ball video games, predating the Famicom run by only a couple months here with the franchise’s debut game for Epoch’s Super Cassette Vision. There’s already a fantastic base here (complete with story text translations we haven’t seen anywhere else), and there’s more on the way in terms of item breakdowns, promotional spreads, etc.
  • Majin Doo“: Following up on last week’s work on the Majin Koo page, it’s Doo! Next up for these two character pages will be some video game breakdowns.

Enjoy everything you see here (plus everything else the wiki has to offer!), and be sure to also follow us on Bluesky, where we skeet out a random wiki page link every day — you never know what might pop up!

We had a bit of a slow wiki work week (mainly due to prepping for our charity fundraiser live stream!), so it was mainly Kev holding down the fort across various pages.

(NOTE: As with everything else across the wiki, not everything on these pages is necessarily complete! We just want to showcase some of the leaps in content and documentation being done.)

  • Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO“: Keeping up with some of the downloadable content announcements, release dates/timeframes, etc. — the best time to document things is as they’re happening!
  • Majin Koo“: Prompted in part by the (somewhat surprising?!) significant traffic to Daima character-related pages — obviously there’s more to add, but it’s always nice to just get a good ol’ character biography pegged down.

Enjoy everything you see here (plus everything else the wiki has to offer!), and be sure to also follow us on Bluesky, where we skeet out a random wiki page link every day — you never know what might pop up!

It’s been a bit of a slow week with a lot of travel and other priorities, but there’s at least one page with updates of notable interest to share!

(NOTE: As with everything else across the wiki, not everything on these pages is necessarily complete! We just want to showcase some of the leaps in content and documentation being done.)

  • Hera Clan“: All of the major original source documentation has been scanned and translated — this includes screenshots from Dragon Ball Z: Super Butōden 2 itself, as well as its strategy guide and V-Jump coverage around the game’s release. It’s great to have this all consolidated and sourced properly! Next up will be a little more of the modern-era sourcing for the few occasions the clan name gets dropped.

There’s a good chance you know Dr. Slump, and you definitely know Dragon Ball. Between these two heavy-hitters, a few sporadic short stories, and “Akira Toriyama’s Manga Theater” hitting store shelves in 2021, there is (finally!) a good amount of Akira Toriyama manga available in English.

But that’s not all! There are four other manga products by Toriyama that have technically been translated and released by Viz… but they’re not the easiest finds these days!

Last week was a busy one with a lot of heads-down research and preliminary documentation, particularly on some pages that are teeeeeeechnically “live” but we aren’t ready to promote just yet — if you know how to peek, go ahead and check some of it out! That said, let’s check out what’s new:

(NOTE: As with everything else across the wiki, not everything on these pages is necessarily complete! We just want to showcase some of the leaps in content and documentation being done.)

  • Dragon Ball AF (Toyble)“: Ken’s deep-dive continues, now with additional historical and legacy context!
  • Savings Soldier Cashman (1997 Manga)“: A minor, but significant update: all chapter titles are now accounted for! After getting in another box for the archives — this one with the respective December 1998 issue of V-Jump with its final chapter — everything is fully accounted for. Next up: title page scans for everything!
  • Kale“: Sometimes we forget we have files kicking around — like this character page for Kale! Biography and production information is effectively complete here, including cool historical tidbits like hidden character biographies over on the official website.

There are a bunch of other cool character pages in progress (like Abra and Gomah), partially in response to the fact that the “Dragon Ball Daima Characters” page is seemingly one of the most visited since launch(?!). We’ll keep on keeping tabs on what y’all are interested in!

Special thanks go out to some of the new and old friends alike that have offered up additional resources and checks on some of these articles along the way. We can’t do it without you!

Enjoy everything you see here (plus everything else the wiki has to offer!), and be sure to also follow us on Bluesky, where we skeet out a random wiki page link every day — you never know what might pop up!

It’s another week with an unintentional primary focus on manga! Sometimes that’s just how it shakes out. We’re really running the gamut again here with everything from an actual Toriyama series, to a collaboration one-shot, to a spin-off series, to compilation volumes… and let’s not forget that fan manga!

(NOTE: As with everything else across the wiki, not everything on these pages is necessarily complete! We just want to showcase some of the leaps in content and documentation being done.)

  • Dragon Ball AF (Toyble)“: Ken’s deep-dive into this historically-important piece of fan media continues with summaries of all the main volume contents, and now moves on to its influences and legacy. We actually have some archive material shipping in this week to cite here on the page, so stay tuned for even more…!
  • Cross Epoch“: While its page here on the main site is already pretty content-complete, it made sense to replicate and expand on some of that work for its respective wiki page. In particular, we’ve detailed some of its various (limited!) official English releases from Viz, along with a first-stab at a write-up regarding its legacy.
  • Savings Soldier Cashman (1990 Manga)“: Moving backward from its 1997 reboot manga, here we are where it all began back in V-Jump with Akira Toriyama’s original Savings Soldier Cashman manga. The history of this three-chapter series is fully documented with a bunch of great resources I haven’t seen anywhere else, including early character designs and details on its debut action figure directly from those actual V-Jump issues!
  • Go! Go! Ackman 3 (Cel Comic)“: Last week we shared the Go! Go! Ackman 2 cel comic documentation, so it only made sense to wrap things up with this final one! With this four-chapter comic and the release of the corresponding Super Famicom game, Ackman’s reign of terror(?) finally comes to an end.
  • Dragon Quest Anthology (Manga)“: While doing some final clean-up and research about a few one-shots, I happened upon this short run of Shueisha Jump Remix volumes for a few Dragon Quest series. Short and to the point here, but some necessary citations for additional releases and compilations of these chapters.

It’s been a month since launch! What a wild ride. We hope everyone’s enjoying all the new stuff and finding cool new things — but if you need some suggestions, here’s another small selection of recent things to check out.

(NOTE: As with everything else across the wiki, not everything on these pages is necessarily complete! We just want to showcase some of the leaps in content and documentation being done.)

  • Dragon Ball release chronology“: Even we keep finding things in the depths of the wiki we forgot we made! We’re big fans of big ol’ “list” pages — things that give a real nice overview of a subject at a quick glance. This page provides a color-coded view of all mainline Dragon Ball releases (e.g., manga chapters, episode broadcasts, volume releases, etc.), and is now up to date with things like Daima and the Dragon Ball Super manga. Just need to get those Dragon Ball GT episodes in here, now…!
  • Bulma (Resident Number TKM118755)“: Sometimes you need to clear your mind with an extremely simple, one-off character write-up.
  • Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO“: Kev is one of our major workhorses behind the scenes, and in addition to a ton of character pages, he’s turned this attention to the latest Sparking! game — really nice overview of characters, forms, and outfits right now (of course with tons more still to add).
  • Go! Go! Ackman 2 (Cel Comic)“: More content in the expanded Akira Toriyama universe! Did you know there was a Go! Go! Ackman sequel comic? Did you know that sequel comic got two sequels of its own to promote the video games?! Here’s the middle one!

Enjoy everything you see here (plus everything else the wiki has to offer!), and be sure to also follow us on Bluesky, where we skeet out a random wiki page link every day — you never know what might pop up!
