Kadokawa's biggest shareholder, Oasis Management, is pushing to oust CEO Takeshi Natsuno, and their main argument is that Elden Ring was too successful to not be more successful. FromSoftware published through Bandai Namco instead of going solo, so some of that revenue went to Bandai. Oasis is calling it "material profit leakage." #gamingindustry #gaming

A great week across Valnet's brands! MovieWeb sat down with Tom Hanks and Tim Allen to talk about 30 years of friendship, the legacy of Toy Story, and whether the duo might finally reunite outside of Pixar. Tim Allen even shared an update on the future of Galaxy Quest. HotCars hit FuelFest in Los Angeles, where the team got up close with the Lamborghini Temerario and experienced the car firsthand on the roads of Angeles Crest. By all accounts: a pretty good day at work. TheGamer was on the ground at Download Festival, connecting with developers, creators, and fans while covering one of gaming's biggest events. The team also had the opportunity to speak with key figures behind Final Fantasy XIV during the festival. #DigitalPublishing #Screen #Auto #Gaming #Valnet
Global video game revenue surpassed $200 billion for the first time in 2025, according to Newzoo's latest Global Games Market Report. And across the same period, 28% of surveyed developers lost their jobs. https://lnkd.in/gWKuPM3P
Sega has unveiled a life-size shiny silver Sonic statue with a green Chaos Emerald embedded in its chest, and is claiming the emerald contains Sonic's actual DNA, created through "cutting-edge biotechnology." The statue was made in partnership with Lom Baby, a "science collective" previously known for recreating dragon meat and the T-virus from Resident Evil. It goes on display at the Sega Store in Tokyo on June 23 for Sonic's 35th anniversary. https://lnkd.in/gpD8bqQg

I GOT TO INTERVIEW THESE LOVELY CHAPS!! Big thanks to Soken-san, Koji-san, and Gunn-san for being such a pleasure and a laugh to chat with! ❤️ Thank you also to Square Enix for the invite! It was an absolute delight to represent for TheGamer again. Now it's time to look forward to Fan Fest next month!

In April, Greysun Morales and Raphael Bennett visited Secretlab at its Singapore headquarters to learn all about their new chair, the Atlas. The Atlas is Secretlab's first task-focused ergonomic chair built for professionals rather than players. The Atlas leans into the way people actually work across a long day. A synchronous tilt mechanism encourages dynamic, active sitting, advanced foam composites spread pressure more evenly, and a toggle switches the chair between Focus and Rest modes so you can recline and relieve fatigue between deep-work stretches. It starts at $499, with a NanoFoam Composite version at $699.99. It's been great to watch Secretlab expand from gaming setups into the broader workspace category, and to see where that ambition is heading after meeting the team behind it. Our team went hands-on with the Atlas for a few weeks. Full review from GameRant at the link. https://lnkd.in/gQZsMS7z
