I'm not as diligent as logging my manga on MAL, but you're right that I haven't given Houseki no Kuni a read yet! The anime left me wanting more and I actually waited a bit to see if there'd ever be more adapted, but who knows if that'll happen...

When I do, I'll make sure to share a few thoughts on it.

Likewise, if you're interested in anime that pull heartstrings, I'd recommend a watch for Chihayafuru! It's something that has a strong focus on youth and the emotions that flow from working hard towards goals. My personal favourite!

Scanlations it is, then. XD I liked the first volume, just usually prefer physical copies when I'm reading something. But manga has always been expensive, at least for any series that has more than a few volumes. Lol.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone with Life in their faves before. I bought the first volume of the manga back in high-school. Maybe I should get around to reading some scanlations, lol.

I also only started focusing more on Light Novels in the last year. But I’ve been having a lot of fun with them.

Your favorites seem really diverse, so I’m not sure where I could place TP and whether you’d end up liking it or not.

But in general, among most of the people I’ve talked to who read LNs frequently, I think it’s almost unanimous that TP is one of the best series out there. I started reading it because I like gore, but I found much more than just that (although I always warn people that the series genuinely has some very heavy, stomach-turning scenes).

I think my favorite part is how morally gray the characters are, but not in that “everyone has a good side and a bad side yada yada” kind of way. More in terms of context, individual motivations, and above all, how their actions have consequences regardless of how much they try to run from them.
Technically, it’s an isekai, but forget all the tropes you’re used to seeing in isekai stories.

If you ever end up starting it, I’d love to talk about it because the series is honestly pretty underrated.

Anyway, you’ve got some really interesting favorites. Glad to see Clannad here.
