Painting is one of my hobbies. Nothing professional. But a way to be creative and have fun. The P-38 is one of my all time favorite airplanes. Not perfect, but this was a great way to spend part of the day making. Oil paint on a 12 x 16 wood panel.

Do you know if the P-38 was ever part of the 23rd Fighter Sqd. in WWII. My dad was part of the 23rd and I have a picture of him refueling a P-38.

Perhaps others may know for sure.  A preliminary search states they were flying P-40s at the start, and by June, 1943, converted to P-47s.
