Cristian Mark Junior Nascimento Oliveira Baroni (born 25 June 1983), known as Cristian Baroni or simply Cristian, is a former Brazilian footballer. He played as a midfielder.

Early years

Cristian Baroni started his career at Paulista. where he won the Copa do Brasil in 2005.[1] Shortly after, he joined Atlético Paranaense. In 2007, he signed for Flamengo,[2] where he helped the team qualify for the Copa Libertadores, after being in the relegation zone earlier in the season.[3] He also helped them win the Campeonato Carioca and Taça Guanabara in 2008.

Corinthians

Cristian Baroni signed for Corinthians in September 2008,[4] and helped them get promoted to the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, after their relegation in 2007. In the 2009 Campeonato Paulista, Cristian Baroni scored the goal that helped Corinthians beat São Paulo in the semi-final first leg at the Pacaembu, with only 23 seconds left in the match. While celebrating the goal, he made obscene gestures to the São Paulo fans.[5][6] In the second leg at the Morumbi, his teammate Ronaldo scored a goal and repeated the gesture. [7] A few months later, he would help Corinthians win the 2009 Copa do Brasil.

Fenerbahce

On 20 July 2009, Fenerbahçe announced the signing of the player for €5 million.[8][9] He would become known in the Süper Lig for his long shots.[10] On 28 August 2014, his contract with Fenerbahce was ended with mutual agreement.[11]

Return to Corinthians

On 3 January 2015, he re-signed with Corinthians.[12]
