Zoom is a video chat software program made by Zoom Video Communications. Its unpaid service allows up to 100 people to video chat for no more than 40 minutes. Its paid service allows up to 1,000 people to video chat with no time limit.[1]

Zoom works on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux.[2] Zoom allows one-on-one meetings, group calls, screen sharing, and video recordings.[3]

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Zoom has become very popular for working from home, attending school from home,[4] and online social relationships.[5] It has also been criticized by people concerned about privacy and surveillance.[6][7]

In 2020, Zoom added new features for accessibility, like better closed captions and video window adjustments.[8] They also launched OnZoom, a platform for hosting free and paid virtual events.[9] In 2022, Zoom released Zoom One, an all-in-one tool for video calls, chat, phone calls, and tasks.[10]
