Ideal candidates should be self-motivated with a passion for solving technical problems and a focus on providing excellent customer service! Additional skills include excellent organization, communication, customer service and attention to detail skills with general computer hardware/software installation and troubleshooting knowledge. Heads up, Gardner Library users: Gardner Library will be closing for renovations beginning Tuesday, September 1, with anticipated reopening in November. The renovations will include a partial roof replacement and a refreshed interior with new paint, carpet, furniture and shelving. No services will be available at Gardner during the closure. Returns, holds pickup, public computers, printing and copying, meeting rooms and access to the collection are available at 13 other locations across the county, including Edgerton Library (319 E Nelson, Edgerton) and Spring Hill Library (109 S Webster St., Spring Hill), which features convenient curbside holds pick-up. The Gardner ballot drop box will be relocated to the northeast corner of Library property so that it can remain accessible for the November election. Here are a few important dates to keep in mind: 🗓️Tuesday, August 11 is the last day to request an item for holds or Interlibrary Loan pick up at Gardner Library. After this date Gardner will no longer show as an option to select when reserving materials through your Library account. 🗓️On Tuesday, August 25, all pending holds with a requested pickup location of Gardner will be paused until the building reopens. 🗓️Monday, August 31 is the last day of services at Gardner Library, including access to the collection, public computers, holds pick up, and materials return. Available holds not picked up by close of business at 8 p.m. will expire. We'll keep you updated here on social media and on our website. This work is being done as part of Johnson County Library’s Capital Replacement Program, which modernizes and upgrades existing buildings in conjunction with the Library’s major capital projects. As a Library Courier, you would specialize in our Library’s materials handling processes including the sorting, organization, loading and delivery of our collection and materials to 14 branch locations. In addition, you would provide quality customer service to library staff, your courier team and patrons through timely, accurate and efficient deliveries, identifying strategies to increase efficiency, cost savings and improve patron service. Good  news, friends: Cedar Roe Library has reopened after closing in March for restroom renovations and mechanical equipment upgrades. Browsing, computers and printing are now available, and we have resumed filling holds and Interlibrary Loan pickups at Cedar Roe. Please note that due to ongoing construction, Curbside Holds Pickup service remains temporarily suspended.  Due to supply chain constraints, work on the men's and women's restrooms is still underway; until the redesigned restrooms are available, please use the single-occupancy/family restroom or the portable restroom in the parking lot. You may also experience construction noise and workers moving throughout the vestibule for a few additional weeks.   We appreciate your patience as we work to improve your Library facilities. Staff look forward to welcoming you back to the branch!
