Understanding Wave Phenomena

Waves are everywhere, and understanding their behavior leads us to understand nature. The goal of CRC 1173 »Wave Phenomena« is therefore to analytically understand, numerically simulate, and eventually manipulate wave propagation under realistic scenarios by intertwining analysis and numerics.

A pretty large group of us (including former colleagues) is attending the Scientific Computing and Differential Equations (SciCADE) 2026 in Edinburgh, UK, this week. There's a lot going on there.

At the last tea session, we celebrated the CRC's 11th anniversary with delicious fruits and self-baked cakes. Some people of the CRC have been captured in this group shot. Unbelievable, that the last year of the CRC has begun.

Summer School 2026

This year we offer a second school which will be more about Analysis. We are happy that we were able to secure Mariana Haragus (France) and Todd Kapitula (USA) as speakers. Registration deadline is May 31.
