Hello and welcome to my page! I'm Pangalau.
Namesake
[edit]My username is inspired by Pangalay, both because I found it culturally meaningful and because it sounded cool. Pangalay is a traditional fingernail dance of the Tausūg people from the Sulu Archipelago and the eastern coast Bajau of Sabah. Often performed at weddings and festive occasions, the dance has a male counterpart called Pangasik, while a duet performed by both a male and female dancer is known as Pangiluk. Rooted in pre-Islamic and Buddhist concepts of celestial beings, Pangalay also shares stylistic and cultural ties with other classical Southeast Asian dance traditions.
Objective
[edit]I began to edit Wikipedia by making minor corrections to local articles that I was interested in and that inspired further research. I believe everyone should have access to accurate information, and to validate that belief, I started spending more time to researching and improving articles. My field of interest grew because I felt a necessity to improve the quality of material I read as I was reading and to improve my knowledge about the subject matter myself internally. My areas of interest include biographies, international affairs, wildlife, and nature.
