Hi hope you’re doing well. I wanted to ask if you have any experience creating or contributing to Wikipedia articles.

I’m working on documenting a motorcycle racer’s career using official race results, archived publications, and other reliable sources. Before I move forward, I’d really appreciate any guidance you can offer on the proper process, Wikipedia’s notability requirements, and the best way to create an article that complies with their guidelines.

Hi @Geekychica, I do have some experience with contributing to articles since I've created a few articles about insect species.

You'll need multiple secondary, independent and reliable sources with significant coverage to create an article about a person (see WP:42). I recommend creating a draft article and submitting it to WP:AFC for review. Make sure that all content in the article is sourced and that you don't use an AI chatbot to write the text, as that's not allowed. See Help:Your first article for guidance on how to create an article.

Hi @CCREALT, I assume you previously edited as User:~2026-41603-53. Here are my reasons for reverting:

The first source does not mention anything about lament.

The second source describes Ceara Conway's project about the lament of female asylum seekers in Ireland, not how she uses lament in art generally.

The third source doesn't mention the award nomination.

It's important that all new content you add is verifiable (WP:V).

Also, sources 2 and 3 seem to be her own websites and we cannot use them as sources in this case (WP:SPS).

Hi @Kevin Chacon Transcended Kev. Right now, your draft is essentially just a list of products you sell and what you do. The tone is pretty promotional, and I see it's been tagged for WP:G11. "All data found on search engines" is not necessarily enough for a Wikipedia article. A subject needs several reliable, independent sources with significant coverage to be considered notable on Wikipedia (WP:42). Right now, your references only consist of your websites and social media accounts, which are neither independent of you nor considered reliable. Writing autobiographical articles is strongly discouraged because it's difficult to write a completely neutral article solely based on independent sources about oneself. You should also be aware of why WP:an article about yourself is not necessarily a good thing. Furthermore, writing article content with an AI chatbot is not allowed per WP:NOLLM. "Older than her" v. "older than she"

I see that you reverted an edit of mine which, in the article on Queen Letitzia of Spain, had changed "older than her" to "older than she," the latter of which, you contend, is grammatically incorrect.

"Older than her" is the laxer, more conversational, more American construction, while "older than she" is the more staid and traditional one. I admit that the locution I prefer is nearly extinct in casual, streetwise, spoken English; the phrase "taller than he," says H.L. Mencken in The American Language, "to the unschooled American, sounds absurd." I therefore understand and sympathize with your discomfort with that construction. I would concede, inasmuch as language itself is a wiki, that "taller than him" (or, in this case, "older than her") has become an acceptable alternative that even a schoolmarm like me should accept because of the sheer number of Anglophones today who use it, not just when speaking but even when writing. But "taller than he" (or "older than she") has not ceased to be correct for that reason. And, because it is the more formal construction, it should be the preferred one in any writing that aspires to be scholarly or encyclopedic.

I was actually not aware that your grammatical construction is correct, since I personally never see people use it. I apologize for calling it "grammatically incorrect". It seems that both variants are used in articles. However, the more modern version "older than her" is more preferable because it is more accessible. I can imagine that that's frustrating. Creating an entire article from scratch can be a really difficult task if you're a complete newbie. How about you make some sourced additions to already existing articles to learn how adding sources to articles works? You can look at WP:Referencing for beginners for more information.
