Exports

[edit]

It's because if you just put the category declaration itself, then it automatically sorts under the first letter of the page title — so it was under L because the title begins with the word "List". If you want it to sort differently (i.e. under B for Bangladesh), then you add pipetext to the category (i.e. |Bangladesh) to override the default. (The pipe is the vertical bar that's usually on most keyboards as the "uppercase" shifted version of the backslash.) I've already done that, but you can look at my edit to see what I did if you need a bit more clarity about what I mean. Bearcat (talk) 19:32, 17 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Bearcat I never thought about pipetexting the category declaration itself, as I didn't want to link one thing and mention another. Yet, it seems pipetexting doesn't change the category shown but does change how it is sorted. Thank you for the speedy reply! Greatder (talk) 20:01, 17 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, that's right. It works differently in categories than it does in text — in regular text it changes what displays, but in a category link it just changes where the page sorts alphabetically without altering the title itself. Bearcat (talk) 20:03, 17 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Your submission at Articles for creation: Energy in Bangladesh (May 16)

Draft declined
Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. Your draft submission to Articles for creation has been reviewed but not accepted at this time.
Feedback
The reviewer, Devonian Wombat, left the following feedback:
This draft does not have sufficient content to warrant a standalone article of its own, but it could be merged into the existing article at Electricity sector in Bangladesh#Sources of energy.
  • Edit the existing article to include your text and citations into an appropriate section.
  • If the article is protected and you cannot edit it, propose your changes on the article's Talk page.
Unclear why this needs to be split from the electricity article, as this draft is quite short.

Next steps

  • Edit Draft:Energy in Bangladesh to address the points above, making sure to publish any changes.
  • When you are ready to resubmit your draft for review, click the Resubmit button.
  • If you do not edit your draft in the next 6 months, it may be deleted.

A tip

[edit]

Hi Greatder. Good to see you around. In case you weren't aware, you don't have to submit drafts for review through the Articles for Creation process unless you have a conflict of interest. You can move drafts to mainspace yourself. Thanks for your attention to under-served topic areas! Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 04:23, 14 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Clayoquot Thanks for the encouragement! I couldn't move it myself as there was already a redirect there and I didn't know how to merge content/history. The articles been bugging me for a while with all the energy security talk, glad it got approved :D Greatder (talk) 08:10, 14 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
If you're the only contributor to a draft page, you can just copy and paste the contents to another page - you don't have to do a history merge. Another option is to place a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves#Requesting technical moves . These get handled pretty quickly. Take care, Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 00:42, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
