Stop removing pop rock from "Jaded"

[edit]

Please stop removing pop rock from Jaded (Aerosmith song). The Billboard source says, "This preview into the set is an edgy, pop/rock formulation..." The source is obviously talking about "Jaded", so do not remove this genre. ResPM (T🔈🎵C) 00:52, 13 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Upon closer inspection, it seems you did keep pop rock in the body but removed it from the infobox. I'm not sure if this was an honest mistake, but please be more careful next time. Editing genres is a dangerous game to play on this site. ResPM (T🔈🎵C) 00:56, 13 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry,
The first time, I skimmed over the source and didn't see it. The second time, I forgot to add it back in the infobox. I mainly edit on other Wikimedia sites, but do smaller edits here for reference. Lord Petrus Steele (talk) 02:02, 13 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page New wave. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 07:53, 28 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Please add quote to The Pretender (Foo Fighters song)

[edit]

Hello, I noticed you added a new genre to the Pretender, and included a reference, which is good! Can you add a translated quote so non-German speakers can verify? Thanks! EducatedRedneck (talk) 03:12, 28 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Done! Lord Petrus Steele (talk) 11:30, 28 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

A Girl Like Me (Rihanna album)

[edit]

Hi, are you able to make this correct edit to A Girl Like Me (Rihanna album) please: Many thanks. ~2026-36405-75 (talk) 06:32, 24 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Before advising me on stuff, I highly recommend you to read the banning policy. El Lothario (talk · contribs) is explicitly marked as a sockpuppet of a banned person. The page A Girl Like Me (Rihanna album) is protected against banned users. As per WP:BAN:

Anyone is free to revert any edits made in violation of a ban or block, without giving any further reason ... Editors in turn are not permitted to post or edit material at the direction of a banned or blocked editor (sometimes called proxy editing or proxying) unless they can show that the changes are productive and they have independent reasons for making such edits

You are now responsible of such material and if incorrect, you'll be warned accordingly for assisting banned editors. Tbhotch (CC BY-SA 4.0) 21:48, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Mind you, this person wasn’t advising you to do anything and was talking to this user. Asked a question nicely. Looking over the article and I don’t see anything tied to MJH. TheGreatestLuvofAll (talk) 22:06, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
@TheGreatestLuvofAll:
  • Advice: "Please read WP:EXPLICITGENRE"
  • "Looking over the article and I don’t see anything tied to MJH", except the user's log for El Lothario (talk · contribs) says: "Abusing multiple accounts: Please see: w:en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/MariaJaydHicky"
Tbhotch (CC BY-SA 4.0) 22:09, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
And reviewing the given souce, in which Lord Petrus Steele is now resposible for it, Rolling Stone says this: "Like her filler-packed debut album (Music of the Sun), this similar but superior follow-up (A Girl Like Me) doesn't deliver anything else as ingenious as its lead single (SOS): Lightweight dancehall and R&B; jams lack the single's ear-bending boldness."
Since you cited WP:EXPLICITGENRE, it means you have read it before. Can you explain how "Lightweight dancehall and R&B; jams..." qualifies as a solid description of an album as being dancehall and R&B? Because the reviewer was saying the album had dancehall and R&B influences, which the article said before your revert. Tbhotch (CC BY-SA 4.0) 22:17, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Meant to say about the editor, correction. Has nothing tied to MJH. I was talking to you because of the way you’re talking to the IP commenter that asked a question to correct a edit. TheGreatestLuvofAll (talk) 22:18, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
I think you should have simply said it in a more polite way instead of just simply saying "before you advise me" when they were talking to the user here on their talk page. TheGreatestLuvofAll (talk) 22:22, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Well considering Lord Petrus Steele has not replied, or even jusified his WP:PROXYING. Tbhotch (CC BY-SA 4.0) 22:28, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
I mean this account relies on genre editing much, but if you want to check their history and compare it to MJH socks, your choice. I don’t even think that is the right way, I just don’t know. TheGreatestLuvofAll (talk) 22:32, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
MJH relies on R&B/pop. Lord Petrus Steele relies on pop and rock. I don’t know who to believe here. If a sockpuppet made a similar edit, it can be the same person, but probably not. TheGreatestLuvofAll (talk) 22:37, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
I'm not saying he is she, if I haven't been clear enough. Tbhotch (CC BY-SA 4.0) 22:39, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Tbhotch has been here for years and quite frankly has lost the ability to be polite to anyone, he was at war with me (I’m Charlie by the way), then moved
on to Maria, his problem is he’s a rubbish editor who piggybacks on as many admin he can get his hands on in hope they will see him as the injured party, he needs to quit to be fair as people are getting sick of his attitude and his throwing of his toys out the pram when people pick him up on his attitude and rudeness… ~2026-38446-72 (talk) 12:28, 5 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
TheGreatestLuvofAll (talk · contribs) is right. This should be a separate discussion since the IP commentor has nothing to do with this. They are the reason I reverted your edit, but it just so happens a sockpuppet had made a similar edit recently. I do not condone their actions, but also do not condone reverting their edits because they got banned. I have no relation to El Lothario (talk · contribs) and this can be confirmed if you really want. As for me advising you, WP:EXPLICITGENRE is just the reasoning for my edit.
Also, "lightweight dancehall and R&B" is not the same as being influenced by dancehall and R&B. Rolling Stones is just describing the album's versions of the genres as being on the poppier side. Lord Petrus Steele (talk) 22:32, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Tbhotch TheGreatestLuvofAll (talk) 22:33, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Neither TheGreatestLuvofAll or you have access to WP:TA viewer, you cannot see IPs and you cannot see all the related temporary accounts MJH has used this week. Whether you condone reverts to banned editors' edits or not, it is your decision; however, we have a policy: WP:Banned means banned. We don't waste our time verifying if the person added productive content, regardless if the edits are good, or bad, or neutral. MJH has continously been gaming the system, to the point of falsifying sources to get their way. I, and many other editors that keep dealing with them, will simply revert their edits as pointless to review.
However, and I have to stress this enough, if you are going to proxy their edits, and it is likely it will happen again in the future as you fell for this once, and you are justifying it here, you are the sole person responsible for any factual error you introduce to articles. WP:PROXYING is explicit about this: unless [you] can show that the changes are productive and [you] have independent reasons for making such edits. Editors who reinstate edits made by a banned or blocked editor take complete responsibility for the content.
----
Back to what you reverted, at A Girl Like Me, MJH said this: "backing up reggae do not make it a full reggae album, it makes up a few tracks on the album". You justified this under WP:EXPLICITGENRE because the source says "her thin, still-maturing pipes are better suited for effortlessly cool reggae-lite confections". At the same time, you cannot justify calling the album "dancehall and R&B" because Rolling Stone called the album's songs "Lightweight dancehall and R&B". The review is not calling the album "dancehall and R&B", it is saying its songs are decaffed dancehall and R&B. Since now you are responsible for the content you restored, you have to justify your additions, and saying "as being on the poppier side", is your interpretation of the source, not what the source described. Tbhotch (CC BY-SA 4.0) 22:59, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
It’s obvious that we can’t see it. This large essay-like statement is not necessary at all for a conversation. Even based on whatever the case is, edits similar to whatever the sock puppeteer edits based on, it gets to a point. Wikipedia has already dealt with this, they blocked IPs because of doxxing issues and that would have been better to detect her sock puppetry. Seriously, this doesn’t make sense to me at all. So otherwise, it is very necessary to forget about it. TheGreatestLuvofAll (talk) 23:20, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
No until LPS justifies their introduction of content not explicitly stated by the source. Tbhotch (CC BY-SA 4.0) 23:27, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
I already have. "Decaffed dancehall and R&B" is still dancehall and R&B if decaf coffee is still coffee. As for reggae-lite, I would let it slide but the source only refers to "Dem Haters" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" as such, not the entire album. And if you agree reggae fails WP:EXPLICITGENRE, why did you restore it?
On top of what TheGreatestLuvofAll (talk · contribs) has said, you seem to be taking this personally. We are both editors who share the goal of making Wikipedia a better place. I admit to not knowing El Lothario (talk · contribs) was a sockpuppet when making my initial edit, and that I do not look through every user's profile. Still, that is not me supporting sockpuppetry and I am sorry if you took it that way. Lord Petrus Steele (talk) 23:57, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Do I have to continue speaking in circles saying that I don't waste my time verfying changes made by sockpuppets? Tbhotch (CC BY-SA 4.0) 00:00, 28 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
