On "Someday We'll All Be Free (Kanye West song)" for GA-nomination
[edit]Considering I just planned yesterday to create the article some time in the future, I'm impressed with the amount of progress you made on article from the initial draft, especially finding an interview about the recording process that I could have never found. You can consider nominating it for GA, though i'm iffy about reviewing because my contributions are more significant this time. I'll leave the reviewing available to anyone else. - RTSthestardust (talk) 00:29, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- I actually had the Shane Cashman sitting around for a while, it's a super good source for what Ye was up to in December 2022 and I hope Wikipedia feels the same despite it being published on Timcast. I'll definitely nominate it soon enough.
- In something semi-related, I was recently considering using the streams Ye did in Spain from April–May 2025 as direct sources to fill in some gaps on Cuck and the individual single articles (such as Fromdabunka producing "Jared" or the unused 'finished' lyrics for "Bianca"). Do you think it'd fall into WP:ABOUTSELF or would it be super unfavorable like with the Insta session video for "Father"? I asked on the talk page since there's zero precedent for this but got no response. Wackistan (talk) 01:21, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- Damn, now that's tricky. I seem to think that Timcast may be unreliable unless it's like for an interview or really, but idk how you really got that source. Maybe get another Wikipedian to ask about it it's okay to use the citation (it's interview-based). RTSthestardust (talk) 20:27, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, the thing about Timcast is that they mostly do politics and obviously they can't be used as a source for that. However, I see no reason that it should be disqualified here; there's not really any reason for Shane Cashman to lie about it and he was verifiably where he said he was. I think the format makes it a non-issue. Wackistan (talk) 20:45, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
