Firstly, being logged out is a normal process as your browser's cookies are wanting to log into Springbob Squirepants, your old username, and as it is no longer a username, it is being rejected by the login page. Therefore, you have to re-login to update the cookies. Secondly, the contributions appear to be there, you might not be seeing them yourself. O is me. Though it might have a disambiguating effect on it, Gnome (Bot), when the initial BRFA was in discussion, had no objections about the username from the BAG.
