Bio

Lisa is a Code Wrangler at Automattic, working from her home in Dawson City in the Yukon Territory of Canada.

While professionally trained in Forestry, Lisa was always directed back to the computer for her database and programming skills. This altered her career path from the woods to a desk chair as a database manager and web developer for the Canadian Forest Service. For several years she was the voice behind a popular (okay, the only) Canadian forestry news blog, and was even briefly as a Drupal support tech at a University before landing at Automattic in 2013.

Lisa has been blogging since 2005.

Interests

Camping, hiking, local history, ATV’ing, bonfires, photography, blogging, road trips

WordPress Origin Story

Lisa stopped programming everything from scratch (Perl/CGI) and embraced b2evolution for her personal blog and for her failed affiliate marketing empire.

Over time, she outgrew b2evolution’s growth and switched all her personal blog and interest sites to WordPress.
