How can you visit?
Book a tour on our education programme. Lasting between 3.5 and 4 hours, an experienced guide will lead you on a walking tour, visiting areas inside and outside the castle, including time for an activity session where you will handle artefacts, weapons, try on costumes or have a go at pastimes and hobbies of the people who would have lived in and around the castle in days gone by.
Bring your own picnic for lunch in the beautiful gardens.
Let us know if you would like to arrange pre-paid goody bags with small items from our gift shop for the children to collect whilst you are here.
We are open for enquiries and bookings all year. School trips can be booked for our open season (early April to the end of October each season) on all days except Mondays. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

Arundel Castle and Gardens are wonderful learning resources for schools and learners of all ages.
With nearly 1,000 years of history to draw upon, students explore the buildings and gardens, enquire about the people who lived here and how their lives might have been and discover why the castle was first built, what happened over the centuries and how it became the home of the Dukes of Norfolk.
We aim to ensure that every student enjoys a fun and informative visit, whether you are interested in Knights and dragons, a period of history or looking for amazing spaces to inspire creative writing and play.
