Monday is a day of the week. The name of the day of the week, Monday, was named for the moon.[1]

Monday is considered the standardized first day of the week in business systems and computing, as set by theInternational Standards Organization in the ISO 8601 standard.

In many parts of the world, including most of Europe, Oceania, and China, Monday is considered the first day of the week, however many other countries, including the United States, Canada, Japan, and much of South America, consider the second day of the week Monday.
