The Resilient Energy Technology and Infrastructure Consortium — led by West Virginia University and in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University — will develop hardware, software and AI technologies with a goal of helping secure the nation’s energy supply, strengthen the grid and power U.S. industry, school leaders say.

Together, as the leading research universities in the region, we proposed forming a new regional engine focused on stabilizing and modernizing the industrial energy base in Southwestern Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The Resilient Energy Technology and Infrastructure Consortium (RETI) would bring top energy scholars together and connect them with partners from the energy sector and technology investment world.
