Welcome to Blue Mountains City Council

The Blue Mountains City Council is based in Katoomba, New South Wales, and serves 26 townships in a local government area of 1433 square kilometres. The townships are situated from 50 to 120 km west of Sydney, within 1,000 square kilometres of World Heritage listed National Park.

A place of great natural beauty and rich cultural resources, the Blue Mountains attracts millions of visitors from throughout the world, making it one of the top three tourist destinations in Australia. Information for visitors can be found on our Tourism Office website.

Blue Mountains City Council acknowledges that the City of Blue Mountains is located on the traditional lands of the Darug and Gundungurra Nations.

RTA Agency

Blue Mountains City Council is able to assist with most of your licensing and vehicle registration needs at Council's Administrative Headquarters located at 2 Civic Place, Katoomba.

The agency operates from 8:30am to 5:00pm week days.
