ISPSC RDLead Program (DOST NRCP)

This five-day visit of the RDLeader and Staff together with DOST NRCP to the college is to provide guidance and assistance in strengthening its research capabilities through the conduct of various capacity – building initiatives, such as trainings, crafting and review of research proposals for possible external funding, assessment of institutional capabilities, resources, and limitations, and mentoring of staff and other related personnel. The ISPSC RDLeader (Dr. Tonette P. Laude) form UP Los Banos was accompanied by DOST NRCP Executive Director (Dr. Marietta B. Sumagaysay) and with staff headed by Mr. Marfy Lita. 

They visited the three campuses (Sta. Maria, Narvacan, and Cervantes) to assess their research capability and established facilities. Also, they conducted training-workshop to faculty researchers and staff for capability-building. 


Revitalizing the Culture of Research in Basic Education through Research Capability Building: An Extension Program

The activity was conducted by the Graduate School – Sta. Maria Campus. This was a product of research from MAEd thesis and it aims to conceived to capacitate and enhance the knowledge and skills of teachers in conducting research in the public secondary schools in the Division of Ilocos Sur. 

Topics were discussed by the Graduate School Faculty: The Research Process and Research Ethics (Dr. Orlando Batara); Conducting Quantitative Researches in Education (Dr. Jocelyn Absolor); Conducting Qualitative Researches in Education (Dr. Enhelyn Morla); Conducting Experimental Research (Dr. Milagros Liberato); Analyzing Quantitative Data and Technical Writing Strategies: Literature Search and Citation (Dr. Jonathan Dela Cruz).


DOST RF01 Benchmark for the Chemical Laboratory

The ISPSC Office of the Vice President for Planning, Information, Research, and Extension scheduled a visit to the Department of Science and Technology – Regional Field Office 1 (Chemical Laboratory).

The main purpose of the travel is to visit the Chemical Laboratory and assess the materials and equipment established. This is to benchmark the future establishment of the Chemical Laboratory at ISPSC where laboratory materials and equipment are needed to operationalize the project.
