Massimo Moratti (born 16 May 1945) is an Italian billionaire petroleum businessman, the former chairman of Italian football club Inter Milan and the current chairman of the Saras Group. In April 2020, he was ranked by Forbes at number 1513 in the world's billionaires list, with a net worth of $1.4 billion.[1]
He was the chairman of Inter Milan between 1995 and 2013. It is reported that as chairman, he spent around €1.5 billion of his personal fortune on transfers[2] notably including the signing of Ronaldo in 1997. He is a member of the Italian Football Hall of Fame.[3]
Personal life
[change | change source]He is the son of industrialist Angelo Moratti, who was the chairman of Inter Milan between 1955 and 1968. His sister-in-law, Letizia Moratti, was the mayor of Milan between 2006 and 2011.
He is married to environmental activist Emilia Moratti (née Bossi), and has five children.
