Since our founding in 1923, the War Resisters League has been committed to supporting conscientious objectors, GI resisters, and military families.
WRL works with a number of organization giving direct support to members of the military who are questioning the their orders. Troops do have a duty to refuse illegal orders.

About Face: Veterans Against the War, formerly Iraq Vets against the War, is an organization of Post 9/11 veterans and military members.
National Guard and active duty military concerned about the moral, ethical, or legal implications of their situation, are not alone. Their website has a link to an encrypted form to request support exploring your options. All information is confidential.

GI Rights Hotline
GI Rights Hotline – Military Discharges and Military Counseling | 1-877-447-4487 provides free, confidential, and accurate information on US military regulations and practices to servicemembers, veterans, potential recruits, and their families. It is a network of nonprofit, nongovernmental organizations.

Center on Conscience and War
Center on Conscience and War works to extend and defend the rights of conscientious objectors. CCW supports all those who oppose their participation in war, including those members of the US military who, following a crisis of conscience, seek discharge as conscientious objectors.
For GIs considering their options, Resources for GI Rights and Resistance (PDF download) provides examples of stories of GI resisters, videos featuring WRL members, articles, book reviews, and books by Greg Payton and War Resisters’ International. WRL is working with a network of groups with a history of GI Resistance and counter-recruitment work, who are actively creating a website of our collective resources.
