About the Open Source Accessibility Summit

The Open Source Accessibility Summit will be a one-day in-person event that brings together members of the disability, accessibility, and open source communities to collaborate on practical ways to improve the accessibility of open source software. It will be an interactive event where participants learn, contribute, and work together on real accessibility challenges in open source projects.

Goals of the summit are to:

  1. Make connections between people who have a shared interest in improving the accessibility of open source software.
  2. Share knowledge and practical skills for identifying accessibility issues, contributing fixes, and supporting more inclusive open source projects.
  3. Create opportunities for participants to work on real accessibility improvements through guided issue writing, small pull requests, and collaborative hackathon-style projects.

Do you have a passion for innovation? Do you believe everyone should be able to realize the benefits of technology? Please join us! Everyone is welcome to attend the summit. We need a diverse set of skills, experience, and perspectives.
