Who actually designs and builds my website?
For Express and Express Store plans, your site is designed and built by WordPress.com’s in-house team of design experts. For custom development projects, we match you with a vetted agency from our network of top-tier WordPress development partners, who handle complex, large-scale, or feature-rich builds.
How much does it cost to have someone build a WordPress website for me?
Express and Express Store plans start at $499 as a one-time design fee, plus the cost of your annual hosting plan. Custom development projects start at $5,000 and are priced based on your specific requirements. Hosting for custom projects is separate and discussed during the agency proposal process.
How long does it take to get my website?
Express and Express Store sites are typically delivered within 4 business days of receiving your content. Custom development timelines vary depending on the scope and complexity of your project — your agency partner will provide a timeline estimate during the project discovery phase.
Do I need to know how to code or use WordPress?
No. You do not need any technical knowledge to get started or to manage your site after launch. Once your site is built, you can update text, images, and pages using the visual WordPress editor — no coding required. Our support team is available if you have questions along the way.
Are revisions included?
The custom development service includes rounds of revisions. Revisions are not included in the Express or Express Store plans. Whichever plan you choose, once you receive your completed site you’re free to edit everything yourself using the WordPress editor — colors, text, images, new pages, and more.
Where will my website be hosted, and what does that include?
Express and Express Store sites are hosted on WordPress.com, which provides 99.999% uptime, fast global page speeds, automatic WordPress updates, and advanced security features. For custom development projects, your agency partner will assess your requirements and recommend the most suitable hosting option for your business.
Do I own my website after the work is completed?
Yes. Once the project is finished, the website is yours. You can add and edit copy, images, and more directly from the WordPress admin dashboard.
What does my Express Store setup include?
Your purchase includes setup of the WooCommerce shop archive, cart, checkout, and My Account pages, along with the additional pages you choose during signup. Individual product setup, payment gateways, tax configuration, shipping, and other WooCommerce extensions are not included, but our support team can help you configure them after launch.
Do you offer a maintenance package?
Custom development projects include the option to purchase ongoing maintenance plans from your agency partner. These cover services such as additional pages, regular code updates, plugin configuration, and more. Maintenance packages are not available with Express plans.
Can I use my existing domain name?
Yes. Our support team will help you connect your existing domain name to your site after the build is complete.
Can you migrate my existing website to WordPress.com?
Website migration is available as part of the custom development service, handled by our agency partners. If you have an existing site on another platform or host, mention this during your project discovery call so the agency can assess your needs and include migration in their proposal.

Can I add more pages to my Express or Express Store site?
Yes. Both plans include 5 pages as standard, and additional pages are available for purchase if you need more. Once your site is live, you can also create and add new pages yourself at any time using the WordPress editor.
