Hello!
May I introduce myself briefly? My name is Dietmar Rabich and it is my passion to take photos. Here at Wikimedia Commons you can primarily see my photos, which are more suitable for documentation or educational purposes, but are also suitable for illustrations or other uses. In addition, photographic art – in terms of the application of creative techniques and stylistic devices – is intended to demonstrate the possibilities of photography and promote the joy of photography. My photos can now be seen in many places – in small exhibitions, office buildings, medical offices, numerous publications, and many other locations.
My approach to photography has evolved over the years. Both my technical skills and my creativity have improved. The photographers on Wikimedia Commons have helped me refine my technical skills, either directly or indirectly; unfortunately, creativity and creative photos are not a priority here. However, there are many other ways to continue developing my skills.
All of my pictures are licensed by a Creative Commons license so everybody can use it. I think this is a good way to give a picture of the world. But honestly I really don't like just copy images without respect to this kind of royalty.
I'm always looking for interesting places to take photographs, especially architecture, buildings or objects in a technical environment or landscapes. Old factory buildings, workshops, and unique cars are also appealing. If you know such a place, I'm thankful for every hint. Optimal is a place in the Münsterland or the northern Ruhr area – my practice is based primarily in Dülmen and Münster. A permission to make shots there and publish them with a free license must be feasible.
Donations? Thanks to the Creative Commons license under which my images are available here, there are no licensing costs. This allows uncomplicated use. Nevertheless, the question always arises as to whether something can be done in return. I very much welcome this hand-in-hand offer. For those who absolutely want to do something in return as recognition, I have a suggestion: why not donate something to charitable causes, for education, to support social work or socially disadvantaged people, for environmental, nature and climate protection, for commitment to peace, freedom and democracy, for commitment against discrimination, racism, misogyny, homophobia or xenophobia or similar things. The possibilities are many and varied. And it doesn't necessarily have to be money, just get involved.
