Prag News is an Indian 24x7 Assamese-language news channel. The channel has many times shared false claims and fake news through their platform.[1] It is one of the oldest local news channels of Assam based in Guwahati.[2][better source needed]
It was launched on 4 March 2001 as a cable-based television channel.[3] The channel covers local, national and international news and various other programs.
History
[edit]Prag News was launched on 4 March 2001 as a cable-based news channel and later expanded into satellite broadcasting. The channel is headquartered in Ulubari, Guwahati, and serves audiences across Assam and Northeast India.
Over the years, Prag News has expanded its operations through television, web publishing, social media platforms and digital streaming services.

Prag Cine Awards
[edit]Prag News instituted the Prag Cine Awards in 2003 to recognise achievements in Assamese cinema. The awards later expanded to include films from other northeastern states of India. The event has become one of the prominent film award ceremonies in the region.[4]
