Regarding topic ban of a user

[edit]

Hi, it is regarding this edit by this user. Aren't they topic-banned from " South Asian social groups explicitly including castes". The edit they made is related to caste/community/ancestry not to mention unsourced. Please have a look. Thanks. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:54, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Henry Earl

[edit]

Hi Callanecc! hope you are doing well. I believe that Henry Earl, which you salted after a 2014 DRV, is now eligible for an article. During the AFD, the main argument for deletion was that an article about a man famous for being arrested over 1,000 times was an inherent BLP violation. Earl died in May 2024, so BLP is no longer an applicable argument. I also believe we have a clear GNG pass:

Source assessment table prepared by User:HouseBlaster
Source Independent? Reliable? Significant coverage? Count source toward GNG?
Yes Yes Per WP:NEWSWEEK, there is consensus that pre-2013 Newsweek articles are generally reliable. This one was published in 2004. Yes Multiple paragraphs about Earl Yes
Yes Yes CNN is considered generally reliable Yes Multiple paragraphs about Earl Yes
Yes Yes Lexington Herald-Leader is a highly-regarded newspaper of record for Lexington, Kentucky. Yes Multiple paragraphs about Earl Yes
This table may not be a final or consensus view; it may summarize developing consensus, or reflect assessments of a single editor. Created using {{source assess table}}.

Are you willing to undelete the article? I fully understand if you'd rather this be discussed at DRV given the lengthy history. Best, HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 23:57, 12 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi @HouseBlaster, sounds good to me so I've unsalted it. Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 11:39, 13 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

About a decade ago you protected a number of Scientology-related pages, citing Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Scientology#Editors instructed. You can find (a subset of?) them if you search for the arbitration remedy on User:Rusalkii/Candidates for unprotection. Would you be willing to lift those protections given that the remedy has recently been rescinded and most of those pages did not have a long protection history beforehand that would justify indef protection? Rusalkii (talk) 04:41, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for bringing these up Rusalkii. I've unprotected them. Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 08:26, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
