Se osti Tableau Softwaren 15,3 miljardilla Yhdysvaltain dollarilla vuonna 2019.[3][4] Salesforce osti Slackiä kehittävän Slack Technologiesin 27,7 miljardin dollarin hintaan 2021.[5]
Salesforce perustettiin vuonna 1999. Perustajiin kuuluivat Mark Benioff, Parker Harris, Dave Moellenhoff ja Frank Dominguez.[6][7]
